Dilution Percentage / Grade of Dilution

Calculates the arithmetic dilution percentage — Dilution (%) = weight of melted base metal / total weight of melted metal × 100 — from two entered mass values. This is an arithmetic calculation only: it does not decide whether a dilution value is acceptable, does not compute weld-metal composition, and does not perform any Schaeffler/DeLong/WRC classification.

Engineering calculator — results require technical review before production use.

Both masses below must be entered in the same unit — this calculator does not convert between g and kg.

Total melted metal = melted base metal + added/filler/deposited metal.
